Last summer, Diane Wells was just two months into her treatment for follicular lymphoma when she decided to attend the UW Carbone Cancer Center's Walk Away From Cancer (she's pictured here - lower left - with her walking buddies).
Because the event was so uplifting, Diane decided to volunteer to help make this year's event a reality so more people could share the experience.
Even though the name is new, Carbone's Race for Research promises to be even better with a 1- or 3-mile walk, and a 5K run. It's perfect for families or those interested in a little competition.
As Diane experienced, there's nothing quite like being a part of something that can make a difference for so many. Consider becoming part of an incredible community - doctors, nurses, researchers, patients, family and friends joining together - and walk (or run) on Aug. 4.
